Together Gibraltar appalled at the Health Ministry’s attempt to blacklist demonstrators after UNITE/GHA protest
Favouring sycophants and suppressing dissidents is, unfortunately, a long lived political tradition in Gibraltar. This insidious and antidemocratic custom has a negative impact on the quality of our democracy, stifles public participation and impoverishes our social debate. Fortunately, one of our main social agents, Unite the Union, was firm in its rejection of such practices with regards the demonstration that took place outside St. Bernards Hospital last Thursday, in which a GHA management representative attempted to take the names of people attending.
Together Gibraltar would like to show support to Unite and all those who exercise their democratic right to protest safely and peacefully, and express its clear and profound rejection of these antidemocratic, intimidatory practices, that should have no space in a modern democracy.
