Jackie Anderson

Profession: Freelance Writer
Seconded by Dave Anderson

I was recently a candidate honoured to have been elected to represent Together Gibraltar in the general election. As a proud Gibraltarian, I am driven by a sense of urgency that Gibraltar deserves a government that engages the full involvement of its people, that explores fresh ideas from across the world, that is open, transparent, accessible, and works to the principles of equality, social justice and integrity. As a mother and grandmother, I have a duty to help create a better, safer world for our future generations; I believe that even a small town like ours can make a difference in the world as we unite across the globe to combat climate change. As a writer, I am permanently curious, tirelessly seeking creative solutions to put to good effect in Gibraltar. In my professional life, I have been a senior housing manager in social housing, a property and estate manager in private housing, an educator and childcare professional, and a small business manager, delivering training, apprenticeships, quality management and joint working initiatives. I believe this is the right time for me to offer everything I can to help Together Gibraltar bring pragmatic, effective changes to all of our lives.

A few weeks ago, I was out campaigning as a candidate for Together Gibraltar, knocking on doors, getting to know as many people as I could. I was privileged to have been so warmly welcomed and permitted a glimpse into some of the issues that are important to so many and some of the hardships many Gibraltarians quietly endure. That in a city of so much affluence there should also be so much poverty, poor housing, deeply entrenched social needs and disadvantage of all kinds is a poor indictment of existing government systems. I have worked hard with Together Gibraltar recently to highlight some of these issues, to shed some clarity on their causes and to bring forward possible solutions – not just solutions that I have sought, but solutions and ideas put forward by the many people of Gibraltar who are hungry to see a change for the better. Together Gibraltar’s grass roots participative politics has already achieved a historic impact on Gibraltar’s political system and I am ready to give every effort as a member of the party executive to help the party build on that achievement and create that real, lasting change that our community needs.

Kivain Asquez

Profession: Team Leader and Black Belt
Seconded by Marlene Hassan Nahon

I'm Kivain John Asquez, and I have always been very involved in political areas, always fighting with my honesty, knowledge and energy of what is right for Gibraltar. I am willing to put all my ideas and projects in to use i If I get the chance.

I would like to see a better Gibraltar which will be possible along with Together Gibraltar protocols and projects, where there will be equality in all aspects.

Christiana Ballester

Profession: Accounts Manager
Seconded by Jeremy Ghio

I currently work in the accounts department of a local wholesaler and I am currently studying towards the CIMA qualification. I am also the Treasurer of a local cat charity and have been for the past 4 years.  I have always had a very scientific way of thinking and a profound love for numbers. My nature is to be rational and methodical, and I apply these skills to my everyday life. This love for numbers instinctively drew me towards a degree in Mathematics, and my analytical nature drove me towards specialising in the field of Statistics.

I would like to present myself as a candidate as I believe I have many skills that could be of use to the party and the wider community.I see the injustices that happen in Gibraltar and it fills me with a sense of purpose and urgency that has spurred me to make this step. After listening to Marlene speak publicly and following the party's progress, I came to realise Together Gibraltar was my political home. I have been inspired to believe in the possibility that we can make a difference and have a parliament that truly represents the voice of our community. My passion for numbers, organisation skills, initiative and honesty are qualities which I can bring to the party, if I am granted the trust of the membership.

Profession: Facilities Management Assistant
Seconded by Michelle Trinidad

Previously employed in the field of procurement, travel, insurance, transport, shipping, banking. I am an economics graduate. I’m generally interested in environment, music, sport, the outdoors and social justice.
Without people, you're nothing.

Being part of the executive is an opportunity to participate positively in this exciting, new grassroots movement.

Nicholas Calamaro

Profession: Project Coordinator
Seconded by Neil Samtani

Growing up in Gibraltar, I’d always had a keen interest in politics. Fortunate to live in such a unique part of the world, I wanted to do my bit and make sure it remained a great place to live and stood out as a real example to the world.

On the executive I’ve had the opportunity to sit down with Gibraltarians from all walks of life. Together we’ve formed a movement that really represented Gibraltar. I love developing policy with our community, but specifically with young people and representatives from the public sector. We’ve been able to focus on the issues facing them and how we can ensure Gibraltar works for everyone, not just a privileged few.

As a project manager I have experience in managing teams and building solutions. Working in tech I’ve been able to get hands-on experience with new technologies and ways of working which will need to be the centre of our economy and public services. Most importantly though, I’ve had a year with TG learning what people need and where the current system is failing. I hope you’ll support my work, so I can make sure your voices are heard.

I’m standing for TG’s new executive to ensure that all Gibraltarians have the same opportunities I’ve been so fortunate to have.

I will make sure that young people have a voice in Gibraltar politics and work non-stop to look after their interests. I want to make sure that Gibraltarians have all the opportunities to succeed: lobbying for apprenticeships, scholarships and vocational training while supporting the growth our home industries and helping to attract international businesses.

What’s been amazing, is that our best policies have come directly from conversations with members of the public. These are subjects as diverse as education, healthcare, and housing. In my experience, it all starts with you. I’m running because the opportunity to take those ideas directly to professionals and stakeholders for fine tuning has become the cornerstone of my political philosophy, and I’m just getting started.

With the experience and skills I’ve gained I promise to help TG keep growing. Yes, ready for the next election but also to be the prominent force in opposition, holding government to account, hosting debates and keeping our doors open to all concerns and ideas.

I hope that you’ll give me your vote for the new Together Gibraltar executive.

John Calderon

Profession: Risk Manager
Seconded by Neil Samtani

I was born in Gibraltar in 1976. After studying at Cardiff University, I returned to the Rock and have worked in the banking industry for over twenty years. I am currently employed as a Risk Manager in a private bank. I am a proud father of four daughters aged from 18 to 6 years old. I have been involved behind-the-scenes in local politics for 8 years, first with the GSD and now with Together Gibraltar. I have been election agent for both of these parties and thoroughly enjoyed the experiences. I follow current affairs very closely and am active on social media. I was one of the founder members of the pro-choice movement (Choice Gibraltar) and continue to campaign to legalise abortion. I am a keen lover of film and football.

I am very eager to become part of the Executive Committee of Together Gibraltar. I have been supporting Marlene and the party since it started as a grassroots movement, and have attended meetings and public discussions. I became a member in 2018 and just missed out on being selected for the Executive last time round. I was one of the election agents in the 2019 election, a role which I thrived on as it was very hands on, and especially as I was able to get to know the candidates better, with whom I enjoyed working with. My aim is to continue this work as part of the new executive and I am very keen to use my energy and expertise in forming new policies, engaging more with the public and ensure that the party continues to evolve and grow. I share all the values and visions that Together Gibraltar have and I truly believe that I have much more to offer other than being an activist. Gibraltar has given us a mandate for change and in the next 4 years we must build on the solid foundations we already have and be ready to offer the people the alternative they are craving for.

Jonathan Costa

Profession: IT Technician
Seconded by Ivan Hernandez

I'm a father of four to my lovely wife Alicia Costa. I am very proud of my non-profitable commitment to the community, especially Gibwork which I founded in 2012 which has helped thousands to date in finding employment.

I strongly believe in wanting to bring "real" change to Gibraltar, and the energy of the party is contagious. I've constantly placed others before me and felt this is an opportunity I would regret not taking. Everyone's contribution to that change can make or break the position of the party. I will continue to support the party until the party decides otherwise. Once we have cemented the party as the main opposition, we will have a stronger position to showcase our values. We have to be different, be #together and don't criticise #everything under the sun because “el público es sabio” and they will give us more credit for being an all-rounder.

The party can count on me for whatever they need and I say this not just for politics. The only advice I will give is to Never take anything for granted with your surroundings, know your enemies when you’re successful and look after those that stand by you when you're not. I am not afraid to show my true values as a person in saying "enough is enough". I could have taken the easier route but I'm here... and will continue to do so by Together Gibraltar's side.

Leyla Costa

Profession: Broker/ Negotiator - Health Care Administration Management
Seconded by Jon Santos

Workaholic, trustworthy, fighter for justice and not afraid to begin new adventures or new challenges. Strong communication skills and a caring heart. I believe I have the right mind set and qualities to be part of Together Gibraltar as an executive. I have over 25 years experience in Administration Management and Company Management, infrastructures and much more. I am very proactive and definitely can multi-task and I can also bring fresh ideas to the table without over stepping on anyone's toes, since first of all, I care to be respectful and humble. My references can prove this statement. Unfortunately I cannot afford to apply should this not be a paid job.

I want to be a part of changing Gibraltar for the better, and I believe in Together Gibraltar.

Benjy Cuby

Profession: Financial Services Executive
Seconded by Marlene Hassan Nahon

I am a founding member of the Together Gibraltar civil society movement and Party Executive. I like to read and write so I mostly help in those areas. I have focused on economy, finance, business, transparency, external relations & Brexit, although I try to help wherever I can. After Bayside I studied BSc Economics (Accounting & Finance) at the London School of Economics and later I completed an MBA (Finance) at Columbia Business School. I am an investment banker by training, having worked at leading investment banks in New York, London and Tel Aviv. I specialised in corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions, mostly within technology and innovation industries.

I returned to Gibraltar seven years ago to join Finsbury Trust, a local corporate, trust and fund services firm. I am married and have 3 kids under seven, so I have a sense of humour.

My reasons for wanting to continue being a part of the executive are that I want to pay it forward in our community and I cannot think of a better platform in which to do so. Together Gibraltar is built on values of transparency, democracy, participation and inclusivity. I share these values and am prepared to champion them in our community. I see huge opportunities for improvements in our political systems, economy and society. I value Together Gibraltar’s work and dedication in addressing these opportunities. I have the desire and skills to help.

Daniel Ghio

Profession: Account Manager
Seconded by Marlene Hassan Nahon

I'm a passionate, conviction driven individual with a working-class background. I have worked in IT for over 10 years and my outside hobbies include photography and music. The latter, a scene I have been lucky enough to be involved in for over 15 years and have had the opportunity to play in multiple bands and represent Gibraltar by playing abroad.

I got involved with TG as a founding member of the movement and have seen it and helped it grow to what it is today. I was successfully democratically elected to represent TG as a candidate for the GE2019, an experience which I thoroughly enjoyed and got the chance to meet plenty of wonderful people and learn about the very real social problems we face in Gibraltar as a small community. As a working-class individual, I am fortunate enough to understand and also see the issues that affect us on a daily basis, which allows me to understand the problems better.

I would be honoured to be elected into the new executive as I still have a strong hunger, passion and ambition to work for our community and drive home real, pragmatic, positive change to our community that we can all benefit from.

I've been involved TG since it's inception as a movement and my experience has been a wonderful and positive one all the way to running as a candidate in the General Elections in October 2019. We all have shared one common goal and that is to make Gibraltar politics better and move away from stale blame game scenario and provide change and solutions. I wish to continue to be able to make a difference long term and I believe that this project can deliver true positive change in our political scene and I wish to be part of it.

Nabila Gomez

Profession: Operations Manager
Seconded by Troy Charvetto

Nabila is a born and raised Gibraltarian, educated through the state system and made her career in the Gibraltar care sector.
Starting as a support worker, she moved her way to team leader, quickly followed by promotion into the management of care teams in various establishments, caring for the youth, elderly, mental health patients and persons with disabilities alike.
She is a qualified trainer and is responsible for the creation of a UK accredited training centre. Passionate about person centred care, equality, choice and a sense of fair play for all in our community, Nabila is looking forward to making a positive contribution towards offering Gibraltar a sensible and worthwhile alternative to the status quo.

Having served in the first executive line-up with the excitement and vitality to make an impact on our community, then witnessed the extraordinary effect TG had, my drive and enthusiasm for the party's success has grown immeasurably. I want the very best for our party, and I would love the opportunity to continue to be part of it.

I’m an active member since the birth of TG. My hobby is cycling everyday at the top of our majestic rock. I am a father and a grandfather and I do loads of charity work for the great people of Gibraltar.

My reason for wanting to join the executive is I just want the best for Gibraltar and a new party like TG is much needed. People say it’s time for change, I say it time for something different and that is what TG has.

Ivan Hernandez

Profession: Graphic Design & Marketing
Seconded by Marlene Hassan Nahon

I have always been a strong supporter of equality and have taken part in campaigns locally to further the rights of minorities especially for the LGBTQ+ community. I have always been involved in the protection of the environment from early on in life and believe that we need urgent measures to counter the climate change crisis we are in. I am a values-led person with a strong sense of social justice, progressivism and the need for transparency. I am currently undertaking a MSc in Marine Science and Climate Change.

I became involved in the movement and am one of the founding members of Together Gibraltar as a Party. I have worked hard throughout in campaigns, communication, strategy and social media as an executive member from the beginning. I was asked to stand in as Party Chairperson during the election campaign in which I was heavily involved.

Noemí Jimenez

Profession: Office Manager
Seconded by Neil Samtani

My name is Noemi and I was born in Barcelona. I have spent the last 8 years in Gibraltar married to a local man and raising our two daughters here. It has always been in my nature to be critical of things around me. Since I grew up in a very strict religious household, I was never allowed to even talk about politics, however, I knew change began within me and so I did.

I would have loved to study further than my Spanish A levels equivalent. Unfortunately, I was discouraged and told to pursue religious service instead. Then is when I decided I was in charge of my own life and moved to England before my 18th birthday. I taught myself several languages and travelled the world working as an interpreter as well as a tutor.

Moving forward , I went back to Spain but this time I was based in Marbella where I worked for some years and met who is now my husband. I have always been a strong, self sufficient woman who would go above and beyond to fight for what I believe in.

I have a passion for change and I cannot be a passive voter anymore. I have been part of the movement from early stages and I feel the urge to be part of the change and help make it happen. Together Gibraltar advocates for everything I have always believed in. There would be nothing more fulfilling than being in peace with my conscience because I fought for what I believe in, my children and the whole of Gibraltar.

Kamlesh Khubchand Daswani

Profession: Businessman
Seconded by Neil Samtani

I was born in Gibraltar and lived through the closed border years. I schooled in Loreto Convent and then the LIne Wall school. I had the opportunity to study abroad and have a business degree from Cardiff University. I am married and Rita and I have two children who are, thankfully, in their late teens. I am a businessman at heart and love hard work. I was a commissioned officer of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Territorial Army and know that leadership is about being out there, being seen and doing your best. I have been very involved with the Gibraltar Federation of Small Businesses and been part of the new initiative for Gibraltar's Main Street. I have close links with both the Chamber of Commerce and all the local unions so I have a good understanding of business in Gibraltar.

I believe it is a duty to play a part in the wider community. I care about Gibraltar and I am convinced that our politics is no longer representative of our community nor is it accountable to us. I intend to do everything I can to correct this and believe that Together Gibraltar is the only party that will achieve a more democratic, accountable and responsible government. It is essential for a better future for us and coming generations. I look forward to serving you.

David King

Profession: Armed Forces
Seconded by Kamlesh Khubchand

I'm a socialist, a father and husband, a former soldier and, all going well, a future nurse. Socialism is absent from our political discourse. It embarrasses the other parties who have departed from the aims of socialism and social democracy, both of which are supposed to champion those who most need help. Rather, the principles of socialism are those of Together Gibraltar; we have a genuine concern for all people.

My own passion is in bringing about a fairer society by reducing unjust inequality and by ensuring dignity for all. Where I find injustice I take action (I'm proud to have written to the Queen regarding Her Government's discrimination against Gibraltar's soldiers - no OBE for me!). I was drawn to TG for its emphasis on issues I feel strongly about; curbs on pollution, representation of LGBT+ and disabled people, implementation of a more direct democracy. I know what it is to be treated unjustly on grounds of personal identity. TG's sincerity in seeking to end such injustice ensures my strongest support now and in the future.

We have one MP with a greater mandate to act in opposition than the GSD. This will be a lonely job and Marlene needs our help. There is much to be gained by our party through maintaining its diversity of thought, united by our core values: There is room for an openly socialist voice in a team united by the politics of compassion. I offer that voice and I offer the moral courage, with other executive members, to hold authority to account.

Charlene Locke

Profession: Prison Officer
Seconded by: Marlene Hassan Nahon

Background in law enforcement and a single mother and I am passionate about matters involving equality and justice and human rights and given the opportunity I would like to help make positive changes. The reason I am passionate about this is due to both personal experiences and issues I have dealt with on behalf of others in my profession as a police officer.

I believe TG is the way forward for Gibraltar. It is the only political group that wants to make positive and necessary changes and is not afraid to speak the truth or rock the boat. TG is a modern party with a modern approach. Its party is full of real people with real agendas that seeks to make Gibraltar a truly better place for today and tomorrow and its something that resonates with me and something I would like to be part of and contribute towards.

Isaac Massias

Profession: Compliance Officer
Seconded by Marlene Hassan Nahon

My name is Isaac Massias and I am 58 years old. I have lived in Gibraltar for most of my life and served in the Royal Gibraltar Police for 36 years having joined as a Police Cadet when I was 17. I am married and have a 23 year old daughter who is undertaking a degree in Nursing in the UK.

During my career in the police I served in various departments including an 11 year period in the Drug Squad. I rose through the ranks to the rank of Chief Inspector. At the age of 53 I retired from the Police and now work as a Compliance Officer at Hassans International Law Firm.

I have been helping in the background in the run up to the General Election and then realised that I have much to offer Together Gibraltar as an executive member. My experience in the police places me in a position to be able to provide some valuable input in various areas.

John Montegriffo

Profession: Social Worker
Seconded by Tamsin Suarez

I stood as a candidate for the October 2019 elections. I brought a wealth of experience and a track record of social engagement in my three decades as a professional in the field of social care. I am a transparent person, what you see is what you get. I have also formed parted of many official working groups and voluntary organisations. As such, I have an intrinsic knowledge of how our community functions and the numerous issues that it faces. I know I can make a valuable contribution in the field of social policy within TG. Contrary to what we have been led to believe, and as much as I love my country, Gibraltar is not working equally for everyone. I still believe that TG has a great future to play in Gibraltar politics.

Rather than be disheartened by the election outcome, I see many positives as a result of this. The fact that Marlene obtained the highest votes of any opposition member in itself was a massive victory for TG. Since the elections, I have received countless shows of encouragement in relation to our campaign and the calibre of our candidates. I feel we did not perform as well because of various issues. The biggest hurdle to overcome was that in only 2 months most candidates had not had the experience or exposure that other parties had, and our machinery struggled to project the party despite the hard work of a few core individuals. However, there are many lessons to learn that we can turn to positives. We need to build up the resilience of the party, we need to build up our membership, continue to work our policies and project these through Marlene as our MP in parliament. We also need to set up working groups to cover various areas and continue to engage with, and reach out to all sectors of our community. I feel that I am able to make a positive contribution to all this and I humbly place myself before the membership for selection to the executive.

I am honest, caring and helpful. I believe that everything in this world has to be done with a please and thank you. Magic words that people are forgetting and they do not cost a penny. I am very, concern about the future of our new generating.

I like to treat people the way I would like to be treated. If I believe in something I will go 100%. I care and I like to help everyone that is in need of my help. Also, Gibraltar needs a change for us all and for our new generating. Right now we have to help each other to create a good future for us all.

Humbert Peliza

Profession: Director (Building Supervision)
Seconded by: John Montegriffo

I work on the private building sector for the last 30 years and gathered very good experience on major refurbs and developing. Would like to put some effort and help TG to achieve their goal in the next few years.

I see that Gib needs a good Govt and the only way is a change. This Govt needs to tackle many sectors, e.g, employment, housing etc and organise themselves in order for the system to function properly. They won’t bother, they simply waste another four years of our lives. This is why i want to be there and help as much as I can.

Jordan Perez

Profession: Firefighter
Seconded by Marlene Hassan Nahon

Well many of you may know me from my time as a GFA goalkeeper, however I have other passions in life apart from sports, one being a Fire Fighter as it is a very gratifying job where you put people’s well being and safety before yours. My other passions have been politics and the representation of worker’s rights having been a Union representative both during my time as a Prison Officer and as a Firefighter. During these episodes of Union representation I have been very much involved on a day to day basis listening and tackling work related problems even at ministerial level where I have gained immense experience which I believe I can put into good practice in TG’s executive committee if I were to be successful. I was also very much involved in this year’s election campaign from delivering manifestos, continuous social media involvement for the party to spending those endless hours during the vote counting at John Mac hall where I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I believe I am someone that does not sugar coat his arguments and stands by his principles, something TG has been continuously showing throughout this year’s election campaign. Therefore I feel very aligned with TG’s vision for the future and believe I can be a strong asset for the next 4 years.

Erika Pozo

Profession: Finance Manager
Seconded by Neil Samtani

A proud mother to Renee and Ralph, and an experienced finance professional holding several professional qualifications, both in general insurance and accountancy, with a sound knowledge of our regulatory regime and frameworks. Having worked at a senior management level very closely with regulated firms. Most of my experience is based on financial reporting, risk management and advising on compliance and solvency matters. I have been an active member of various finance committees and have experience drafting governance policies.

My social upbringing has coloured the rest of my life and has allowed me to keep in touch with the concerns and difficulties many face today. I am a strong believer that the 21st century parliamentarian should be close to the community they represent. I am mindful of the great tasks before us, and understand our national concern, I appreciate that faith and confidence in our elected needs to be restored and our government must recognise that the taxpayer is our most powerful stakeholder that needs to be protected.

TG have been very successful since it's in inception and has managed to break barriers. Its collaborative and constructive approach to politics is what first drew me to join the party. It was an honour representing the party at the general election as a candidate, and I feel an overwhelming sense of duty to continue to contribute to the party agenda and continue the work that was commenced.

TG needs dedicated members with empathy whom are close to the community from a professional background to provide specific expertise at an executive level. I will be hoping to bring experience and value to the executive team and will ensure that the working groups I am involved in are enhanced and strengthened, that we set formal objectives that are delivered that are in line with our party mission.

I strongly believe that there are weaknesses within our current government that continue to be left unchallenged, draining our public purse, this will continue to be the case for the next legislature and TG needs to continue to build its economic and transparency policy and continue to deliver a strong message. I will be encouraging over the next 2 years the executive team to establish links and work with international open government agencies who provide governments with guidance on transparency and public finance.

I will be hoping to provide significant input into policy drafting and will be hoping to ensure the momentum gained during the election campaign is maintained. TG will continue to gain prominence and it is vital that the team has the correct skills and experience needed to support our leader in parliament.

Craig Sacarello

Profession: Company Director

I have always enjoyed giving my time working for the community whether through charity, business or sport. In my recent years, I have been (and am) the Chairman for Research into Childhood Cancer (RICC), the Vice Chairman of the GFSB, the Vice Chairman of Gibraltar Rugby (GRFU), coached rugby, acted as mentor for the Young Enterprise Scheme among others.

Politics is still relatively new to me, despite having contested the recent 2019 General Election where I narrowly missed out by a mere 35 votes. I look forward to working hard at raising our Party's profile as well as my individual one over the years ahead so that we can mature, politically speaking, in preparing ourselves for government.

I would love to be able to continue working on the TG Exec to ensure that our profile as a party is raised and to prepare us for Govt at the next General Election or bi-election should one arise in the interim period. I would like to be part of the journey that sees TG become a force in addressing real issues in our society (housing, drugs, health and mental health, training and skill sets etc) so that we can improve people's quality of life and give us the best chance of succeeding at the next General Election.

I went to University in Cardiff - and pursued my MSc in Bath. I spent a number of years working in technology and finance, primarily in the UK, Europe and in the US. I returned home to Gibraltar 5 years ago. I participated with the Movement in its early stages, helping to run our first panel discussion on the Environment, and continued my involvement as we saw the movement transition to a party, serving as our Party Chairman at that time. I had the honour of standing as a candidate at the 2019 General Election for TG, a privilege that I hope to repeat in the future. I've been married to my wife Deepti for 12 years, and I have smart-alec identical twin 8 year old boys.

The 2019 General Election demonstrated that there is an appetite for a progressive voice in Gibraltar. Our results provided the party with a mandate to serve our community. Having had the opportunity to participate in the Executive since the formation of the party, I feel like I can continue to develop and contribute to the direction our party will take. I can best do that as a member of our executive.

There were others around Europe fighting also .Lucy.s case went to the ECJ -- Case ECJ 503/09 Stewart v UK . we won a land mark case against the UK and a Judge said to me when shaking my hand i always wanted to meet the lady (me ) that took the UK to the European Court and won did you know you have changed History forever.Lucy got he money but the UK tribunal did not include the total ruling of the ECJ so the others could not get it but they could take the UK to court and quote the ruling and possible win. We became part of the Down Syndrome International swimming Organisation and Adam and Lucy have brought back to Gibraltar Medals, and records over the last 2 years.

I believe and hope in some small way i can contribute in some small way to the executive committee because of my past experience and i will try to the best of my ability to achieve the the aims of the committee.I believe in the rule of law and the letter of the law very strongly and I believe in equality for all and have for years fought for the rights of my children because i believe that the poor , old ,working class , disabled do not have a voice and they need the Together Gibraltar party to give them that voice and freedom.

Tamsin Suarez

Profession: Executive Officer
Seconded by Neil Samtani

I am a working mother who has been tenaciously fighting for a better and more representative society for over 10 years. I am a manager who has worked in the field of finance, compliance and procurement and most recently in support services and project management. I have chaired various charities and associations politically advocating for social justice in areas such as equal and gender rights. I have worked with new mothers, with fathers, with pensioners and with those who need help to understand their rights. My passion for human rights has inspired me and I am studying law as a distance learner. I have never been afraid to challenge social boundaries and norms even when I am the sole dissenting voice bold enough to say what many in our community are thinking. I bring a fresh perspective to a stagnant area.
I have been part of the executive in Together Gibraltar since conception of the party and I would like to continue working with the team towards creating a new and vibrant style of politics in Gibraltar, with its ethos rooted in making Gibraltar a healthier, cleaner and more equitable place for everyone to live whatever their background and needs.

Together Gibraltar is my political home. I would like to continue to be part of a team that reshapes the way Gibraltar develops in the future. I would like to support Marlene in parliament in any way that I can and continue to make Gibraltar a safer and more caring place for the current population and the next generation.

John Ullger

Profession: Estate Agent
Seconded by Neil Samtani

My name is john Ullger, I am 54 years of age. I went to school in Reading, Berkshire and then spent six years in Kingston-upon-Thames. Started my professional career working for Imperial Life (Horlborn branch) as a financial consultant advising clients on financial products including regular/lump sum investment, mortgages, pension and life assurance. At the age of 24 I returned to Gibraltar where I continued to work as a financial adviser with two local brokers until 1997, eventually changing profession to that of real estate. I have always been interested in politics since taking my A level, joined the Young Conservatives during my time in Kingston. Locally I was the Election agent for Regi Valarino when he stood on an independent ticket back in the early nineties and later became involved with the newly formed Liberal Party.

I would like to influence more the political process and not just cast a ballot every four years. Party membership has already proved to be an extremely rewarding experience. I enjoy participating in meetings and leadership campaigns, but also have the opportunity to shape policy, work alongside conviction driven individuals who share my beliefs and values, and most importantly help our party further succeed

Carl Viales

Profession: Office Manager
Seconded by Neil Samtani

Since my first employment, local politics has been a subject of great importance to me. I have had the privilege of working as a Civil Servant for 7 years at No.6 Convent Place under two Administrations working directly for the Chief Minister and the Office of the Chief Technical Officer. My time in these positions has given me an invaluable insight of the workings of the Civil Service and Government Departments in general.

As one of the Chief Minister's Secretaries, one of my responsibilities was to deal with constituents and worked hard to find quick, positive and fair results for those individuals and entities who sought assistance once the relevant avenues had been exhausted. This included a range of issues, from housing to employment and social matters amongst others. This role was truly satisfying, rewarding and at times frustrating when solutions where not found for those genuine cases and this was, on occasions manifested by my actions, going out of one's way, against protocol in attempts to achieve a positive results.

I am currently employed in the Private Sector in the Construction Industry as an Office Manager. I am 32 years old, have two children and we are expecting a third. My life is fully devoted to my family and work.

I have since the very early stages of Together Gibraltar been very interested in its policies, its development and progression. I strongly believe that the party is now at a pivotal stage after the recent General Election and I feel that it is my moment now to step in and commit myself to assist the team in any way possible. The knowledge gained from my roles in the Civil Service, the understanding of how Government Departments operate and having experienced the 'election campaign mentality' whilst working close to a Chief Minister are attributes I can now apply and contribute as part of the Executive Team. My aim is to be part of the team that brings this party into Parliament and into Power and I therefore, kindly ask the members to consider my application to become part of the Executive Team.
